The IES&BD Awards are the only independent awards that promote and advance excellence in Sales & Business Development by recognizing companies and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership and strategic vision in Sales & Business Development. The 2013 winners and finalists are listed below.
The Awards, called the “Oscars for sales achievement” by some, were awarded at the IES&BD breakfast event on April 12, 2013 at the USA Today/Gannett Building in Tyson’s Corner. The 2013 winners are Learning Tree International, CEB, TriNet, Excella Consulting, and Centuria Group. See photos from the 2012 Award Event here.
The IES&BD awards recognize companies that are doing the right things as it relates to sales and business development during challenging times. They are implementing and managing processes that drive business, empower their sales and BD professionals, and ensuring that they have the tools and training to be exceptional.
Awards were given in the following 5 categories:
Excellence in Sales Innovation
Criteria: This award recognizes excellence in sales innovation which may include new sales strategies; usage of technology such as CRM, sales automation, or prospecting tools; revolutionary pricing strategies; and sales and marketing integration. This innovation has led your company to new heights and helped to grow new customers.
Finalists for Excellence in Sales Innovation are: Carahsoft Technology Corporation, CEB (Winner), Deltek, and RapidAdvance.
Excellence in Team Building, Management and Development
Criteria: This award recognizes excellence in sales management, and team development. Excellence may be exhibited in internal team development, hiring, recruiting, cross-functional development, retention, leadership development, motivation, sales & business development management strategies, and meeting and tracking strategies.
Finalists for Excellence in Team Building, Management and Development are: EMC Isilon, Excella Consulting (Winner), Paradyme Management, Sage Business Solutions
Excellence in Sales Training
Criteria: This award acknowledges excellence in sales training programs, online training programs, third-party training programs, leader-led programs, international training, junior sales training, and leadership training.
Finalists for Excellence in Sales Training are: Cisco, Force3, TriNet (Winner), Xerox
Excellence in Customer Partnering
Criteria: This award recognizes how an organization created something bigger than a simple sale by creating a unique and powerful solution with the customer. For this award, the organization teamed with its customer to develop a solution using the organization’s products, services, or other resources to create a solution that had not been foreseen by the customer when it started looking for solutions.
Finalists for Excellence in Customer Partnering are: Learning Tree (Winner), MicroTech, Science Logic, Tidwit
Excellence in Alliance Management
Criteria: This award recognizes how two (or more) organizations came together to form an exceptional team to provide a unique value proposition for the customer. A formal relationship may or may not have been established. This category is typically awarded to companies that have formed unique and valuable relationships.
Finalists for Excellence in Alliance Management are: Blackboard, Centuria (Winner), FM Academy, immixGroup
Some points about the award finalists:
- The awards recognize companies, not individuals, and will show how the company excels throughout the sales process.
- The awards are national. While most of the nominees are based in the Mid-Atlantic, many come from outside of the region.
